There You Are

THERE YOU ARE

We talked about what our first few months in Paris felt like. All the emotional ups-and-downs that come with missing life back home but also the excitement of the unknown. The honeymoon period: awestruck by Haussmann façades, meandering the city streets, moored by an underlying solitude. Hoping that maybe, the next corner you turn you’ll meet someone that will help you forget it.

When you move to a new country, you move with a secret hope that the experience will rescue you from whatever demons you left buried in your old city. The shock of the new covers them up at first. It doesn’t take long to see it’s true what they say: “wherever you go, there you are.”
