I frequently think of 1970’s queer photographers like Peter Hujar, and Alvin Baltrop, and the way their work brims with life and lust against harsh urban landscapes.
The photos in this series are much more tender and bucolic than that photography tends to be, perhaps a natural result of the setting - Hampstead Heath, London. But I think it is also due to the dynamic between myself and the subject, who is one of my closest friends.
